Liz Potter

I’m an Associate Chartered Legal Executive Litigator specialising in all areas of private family law, with a particular interest in the resolution of matrimonial finances within divorce. I also regularly represent clients in relation to all other areas of private family law, including but not limited to children arrangements and cohabitation disputes.

I hold Specialist Accreditation with Resolution in relation to complex financial resolution upon divorce, and complex private children proceedings. I have been a member of Resolution for over 10 years.

I am based in the Prescot office although I’m happy to take instructions from all surrounding areas in South Liverpool, Knowsley and Halton. I am also more than happy to meet with clients at any of our offices if required. I also offer telephone or video appointments if more convenient for you.

I am passionate about family law and feel that it is important that when a client is experiencing one of the most difficult times in their life, that they are listened to, supported and given the correct legal advice to try to make a stressful time as easy as possible. I have a sensible and pragmatic approach and receive regular positive feedback from clients for being compassionate and straightforward in my advice and representation.

I have worked in family law since leaving college in 1997, starting my working life as a Legal Secretary before progressing to Paralegal, and then undertaking the CILEx qualification route, completing my studies in 2009 and being admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2012. My career and work is an extremely important factor in my life.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and never happier than when I’m up to my elbows in compost, gardening being another passion of mine. I’m also a huge advocate of meditation and holistic therapies, recognising that emotional and mental wellbeing are a priority in our busy and hectic lives.
