I am originally from Newcastle on Tyne and studied at Liverpool University where I obtained my LLB Honours degree. I attended Chester College of Law and qualified as a solicitor in 1984.
I was articled with Banks Kendall Taylor and Gorst in Liverpool which became part of Cuff Roberts ( a very old and well established practice). I became an equity partner in 1989 and took over as head of Private Client in 1990.
I remained as a partner with Cuff Roberts until they became part of Halliwells LLP in 2005. I was National Group Head of Private client from 2007 to 2010. I then transferred as a partner to another local Private client team before joining Morecrofts LLP in 2012.
I am the head of the private client team. I am based in the Woolton office but act for clients both nationally and internationally.
I am a long standing member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Probate Section of the Law Society. I am also a member of Liverpool Law Society.
I have many years experience of a wide range of private client matters and specialise in advising high net worth individuals and business owners on inheritance tax and family wealth matters.
I also undertake Probate and administration work on complex estate issues, Trusts and Wills and general tax planning. I act as a professional Trustee for many clients and as Trustee for a number of charities.
I have extensive knowledge of elderly client issues and also the formation of charities and have lectured on my own subject on regular occasions.
I am married to a solicitor and have two grown up children.
I am an active Soroptimist with Liverpool Soroptimists. I am secretary to the Board of Trustees of the Liverpool Empire Theatre trust. To relax I like to read, play the piano, swim and spend time with my family. I am a trust member of the Liverpool Bluecoat School I also enjoy visiting the theatre on a regular basis and I am passionate about musical theatre and classical ballet.
