Celebrities taking the modern approach to family law.

By Angie Brown

Having seen the news that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have now decided to make their separation more permanent and move towards a divorce, it’s great to see that they are taking a very positive approach as to how to go about it.

When they originally decided to separate they were quoted as having stated that they were “consciouslyuncoupling”.  A statement which defined their main focus on separation as being “parents first” and the importance of still co-parenting their children.  They stated that this was on the basis that they “always will be a family”.

It is especially rewarding to see celebrities in the spotlight taking this approach.  As a Resolution Family Solicitor and Mediator, it is always important that when clients are going through separation or divorce that I focus on the individual needs of that client in that context and ensure that the welfare and needs of their children are central to that, to equip them with the right tools to continue to take positive steps for their changing family.
