Morecrofts were one of the law firms who attended an event at Liverpool’s Town Hall last night hosted by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Erica Kemp CBE, to learn about ‘Legacy Liverpool’.
Legacy Liverpool is an awareness campaign to encourage local people from all walks of life to leave a gift in their will to local charities.
A group of 16 charities have come together to work in collaboration to promote legacy giving to the people of Merseyside and Cheshire with the aim of keeping donations in the local area. The campaign also aims to raise awareness for those who are considering leaving a gift in their will about the positive impact these contributions can have on generations to come. A legacy gift, even once family and friends have been taken care of, is often the single largest donation an individual will ever make and Legacy Liverpool want people to consider choosing a local charity which will benefit those in need right here on our doorstep.
The campaign will officially launch in April with the backing of local solicitors but it has already gained keen interest in the legal sector.

Olympic gymnast, Beth Tweddle is also impressed and has given her backing, she said, “Legacy Liverpool is a fantastic initiative from a group of 16 local charities, who are working together to promote legacy giving. There are so many important causes locally who need our help, and I would urge anyone to pledge their support for the amazing work that they do”.
